Food tour through Eindhoven: cycling along highlights and great catering through Mee met Lee

We asked travel blogger Leanne (Mee met Lee) to share our new Food Tour Highlights of Eindhoven To test.
She came back very enthusiastic and wrote a blog about it.

An excerpt from her blog:

Discovering a new city is always fun, right? Especially if you combine sightseeing with some tasty snacks. That's why I was very excited when I was invited by City Tours Eindhoven to take a food tour through Eindhoven by bike!

How does the food tour through Eindhoven work?

You can book 2 different food tours through Eindhoven: one of 28 kilometers and one of 42 kilometers. I myself went for the 42 kilometer tour with 4 food stops. The 28 kilometer tour has 3 different food stops.
Food stops during the long tour:
  • Catering stop 1: starting point of the tour
  • Catering stop 2: after cycling 12 kilometers
  • Catering stop 3: after cycling 27 km
  • Horecastop 4: end point of the tour after cycling 42 km
In addition to the various snacks, a drink is included at each food stop. You can choose from coffee, tea, soda, wine and beer. Bicycles are not included, but can be booked with them. Both a normal city bike and an electric bike can be arranged for you!

You have the route description at your disposal via the City Tours Eindhoven app. The app always sends you to Google Maps in which the route is automatically loaded. The app also contains fun stories and facts about the sights you cycle past and there is a shortcut button to contact Simone.

My experience with the food tour through Eindhoven

I went for the 42 kilometer long food tour with 4 food stops. You start the food tour at Wielercafé Cyklist where we picked up the rented bikes and were immediately provided with the first drink with a nice piece of cake. The range varies, but we were served a delicious Snickers brownie. A good start to the tour! Cycling café Cyklist is also a very nice setting to start the bike ride. In this cozy and hip decorated café you will mainly find cyclists who take a break during their trip.

Then we got on our bikes and the tour really started! We drove through pleasant shopping streets, past ultramodern buildings and through green parks. The first part of the tour goes through the center of the city and therefore you will pass many sights in a short time, such as de Blob, the Lichttoren and the PSV stadium. Other sights included in the tour include:

The NRE site, villa de Laak and the Dommelstraat
Woensel-West, Volta Galvanic and the colored houses
