De Bergen consists of specialist shops, antique shops, book shops, vintage shops and attractive restaurants which are located in characteristic buildings.
Situated in the middle of the city centre of Eindhoven within walking distance of Eindhoven Central Station, the market square, stratumseind and the Downtown Gourmet market. Other popular attractions such as the Philips Stadium, Philips Museum, DAF Museum, Van Abbemuseum and the Holland Casino are located near De Bergen.
The shopping streets of De Bergen get compared to Amsterdam’s luxurious P.C. Hooftstraat a lot nowadays. This is because of the amount of exclusive (fashion) stores you will find there, such as Hugo Boss but also a designer vintage store and some boutiques like 2Balou. Besides fashion stores, you will find a lot of specialist stores. The new hotel will open in 2019 and is situated in the middle of de kleine Berg.
After a nice day in Eindhoven, you can enjoy some high quality food in one of the many restaurants in De Bergen. There is something for anyone. If you like sushi, restaurant Sakana is a great recommendation. If you are more into culinary masterpieces, restaurant Wiesen would probably be more your thing. Enjoy the restaurant Berlage Kitchen and bar with sharing food and take a look in the garden where you can sit outside.
De Bergen owes its name to the hills it was built on. It’s one of the oldest areas of the city centre of Eindhoven and it was spared during the war. A lot of people think De Bergen is similar to “Quartier Latin”, a district in Paris, because of the small and characteristic streets.
So would you like to go shopping and have some fancy dinner in Eindhoven? This is the place to be!
The district is accessible for the disabled, but it could vary from shop to shop.
