Located southeast of Eindhoven, Geldrop Castle is a historic jewel that embraces a rich past and a vibrant future.<\/p>\n
Although the first mentions of the castle date back to 1340, it is suspected that the castle was built earlier. Over the centuries, the castle has known turbulent times, such as during the Gelderland Wars in 1651, when a tower was almost completely destroyed. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the castle was neglected, but in 1770 it underwent a thorough restoration. <\/p>\n
In 1974, the castle was bought by the municipality of Geldrop, on the condition that both the castle and the estate would remain accessible to the public. In 1996, the ownership was transferred to the Geldrop Castle Foundation, with the same objective of preserving the castle and estate for the community. <\/p>\n
Today, the castle is used for various purposes. Business users can make use of meeting rooms and lunch facilities, while the castle is also an ideal location for weddings, parties, drinks and photo shoots. <\/p>\n
