The beautiful park in the Strijp district bears the name of Anna Philips de Jongh, the wife of Anton Philips, co-founder of Philips. In 1920, the couple donated part of this park to the municipality of Eindhoven, on the condition that it would always remain a green oasis for the residents and visitors of the city. To this day, the Philips family remains involved in the park.

After the sale of the estate in 2007 to textile merchant Marc Brouwers, he expanded and thoroughly renovated the country house. After almost ten years, Brouwers wanted to return to his family in Oisterwijk, so the estate was put up for sale again in 2016 for a price that should be well over 30 million euros.

In 1934, Frits Philips, also known as Mister Eindhoven, built his country house here, where he lived until his death in 2005 at the age of 100. The estate, located on the other side of the cycle path, covers an impressive 142 hectares. The estate, bought by the municipality of Eindhoven for 29 million euros, will eventually be transformed into a city park where Eindhoven residents can walk and relax.

The park, with its beautiful lawns and wooded areas in English landscape style, is an ideal place to relax and enjoy nature. Here you can walk along winding paths, lined with rhododendrons and old trees that create an enchanting atmosphere. The De Wielewaal estate, once for sale, is considered a special heritage that will soon be accessible for all Eindhoven residents to enjoy.

Thanks to its proximity to the Herdgang, the park is often the scene of training sessions for sports clubs, including PSV. Don’t miss the chance to attend an open PSV training session and take photos with the players, before spending the rest of your day in the park.

The park is already a popular place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy nature. Come back in a few years and admire the beautiful estate of Mr. Frits again.

During various tours you will pass through this beautiful park. For example, during the E-Fatbike tour Eindhoven and surroundings or the Philips Heritage tour.
