Volta Galvani
The first part of the Woensel West district, which was the first to be taken care of, bears the name Volta Galvani, a tribute to the discoverers of galvanism (Galvani) and the battery (Volta) respectively. At the large entrance gate to the courtyard hangs an imposing lamp, which reinforces the association with these pioneer stories. The shape of the gate is reminiscent of this lamp and gives an impression of an oriental charm that you would expect in a country around the Mediterranean Sea rather than in Eindhoven.
Once through the gate, you enter a colorful, fairytale environment that is completely different from what you are used to. This quiet, oriental-looking courtyard in Woensel-West surprises with facades painted in fresh tones, creating a unique atmosphere.
But as soon as you pass the ‘kasbah’ gate, you suddenly find yourself in the lively heart of the Woensel WestSide Stores. Here you will find special and trendy boutiques, cozy terraces and culinary hotspots, which together create a vibrant ambiance where residents and visitors can enjoy the diversity and liveliness of this unique neighborhood.
